Chief of Police Joseph Bobak
Chief Joseph Bobak began his career with the Parma Police Department in April 1990. He was appointed Chief of Police on July 14, 2016. The Chief of Police must ensure effective and efficient administration of justice through the use of current technology and equipment, modern policing techniques, crime analysis, and relevant training for all officers. As of August 2022, the department has 114 sworn officers, 17 correctional officers, 20 dispatchers, and 70 crossing guards. The officers patrol approximately twenty square miles serving approximately eighty thousand residents.
Chief Bobak is a 2008 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, and a 2011 graduate of the FBI National Academy, 247th Session in Quantico, Virginia. In 2014, Chief Bobak graduated from Northwestern University's Executive Management Program. Chief Bobak holds a master's degree in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University.
